Aggravated Fleeing & Failure to Stop After an Accident

10/29 12:01 a.m. – Officers were called to a large party at a residence on West White Street, due to uninvited subjects creating a disturbance. Upon arrival one of the officers attempted to remove a passenger from a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle then quickly backed the vehicle up, causing the vehicle’s door to strike the officer. The vehicle struck another vehicle which was parked behind it, and fled the scene through a crowd of people. A short time later officers located the vehicle parked in the area of West Washington & Jackson. Three suspects were taken into temporary custody near the Circle K. At the time the driver of the vehicle could not be located. Upon an investigation, and with the assistance of the St. Clair County Drug Tactical Unit, the driver of the vehicle was located and taken into custody the following week. The driver, Kyle S. Pollock, age 21 from Belleville, was charged by the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office with Aggravated Fleeing & Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, & Failure to Stop After an Accident Involving Property Damage. His bond was set at $50,000. At the time of the initial incident, the Smithton Police Department & an Illinois State Police Conservation Officer assisted.
