If you live in the City of Encinitas, be aware of increased law enforcement activity in your area.

A SWAT standoff is underway in the 2300 block of Carol View Drive. A man is holed up inside possibly armed with a gun.

Deputies from the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail (SED/SWAT) and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) are responding to an armed and barricaded suspect.

You might hear a Sheriff's Helicopter or ASTREA flying overhead and patrol cars making announcements.

Please avoid the area if you can. If you live in the apartment complex, follow the instructions of deputies regarding evacuations.
