On Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at about 7:00 AM, the Lockport Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Melbourne Pl and Canterbury Way. Two female juveniles saw a tan early model Ford Explorer drive past their bus stop. The vehicle stopped down the block from the girls, pointed in the direction of the bus stop, began backing up, and left the area. The girls became scared, ran home, and told their parents, who called the Lockport Police Department.
 
Officers responded, checked the area, and could not locate the vehicle. After speaking with the girls, it was learned that the vehicle occupants, described as two male Hispanics, did not approach or speak to any children in the area.
 
The Lockport Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident, but there is no indication that there is any threat to our children. Out of an abundance of caution, the Lockport Police Department will be conducting extra patrols in the area during school dismissal times.
