The ECPD is investigation a homicide which occurred on October 27, 2016 at approximately 8:53 PM.

On Thursday, October 27, at 8:53 pm, the El Cerrito Police Department received a series of 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of the 2600 block of Mira Vista Drive. El Cerrito Police units arrived at the scene and located the victim on his front porch, suffering from gunshot wound(s). The first officers at the scene began administering medical aid until ECFD paramedics arrived. Tragically, the victim died at the scene.

Officers began an investigation into the incident and learned that the victim had just arrived home. The victim was confronted by unknown suspect (s) in front of his residence. During the assault, a suspect shot and killed the victim. The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.

The El Cerrito Police is asking the public for help locating additional evidence in this case. The ECPD urges any resident or business in the area with a security camera to contact the department as this video footage may assist the investigation.
