School employee charged with multiple counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretenses 
On 09-23-2016 the Nash County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigative Division was notified by Brian Miller, Chief of Staff of Nash Rocky Mount Public Schools , of employee Marian Rudder's termination upon findings of deficiencies with an audit for the 2015-2016 school year. The audit was conducted by Anderson, Smith & Wike PLLC of Rockingham, NC. The findings were reviewed by Tonya Montanye, Eastern North Carolina Financial Crimes Prosecutor, and appropriate charges have been filed.
Rudder was charged with nine counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretenses for offenses relating to unauthorized work on timesheets, parking passes, and donations not deposited. She was released on $10,000 secured bond.
