<p>Press Release: Suspicious Package</p>

<p>Date: 10-19-16</p>

<p>Time: 13:35 Hours&nbsp;</p>

<p>Location: Norwood and Lehman Ave</p>

<p>Today at approximately 1:35pm Deal Police Department received a report of a suspicious package inside a vehicle located at the intersection of Norwood and Lehman Ave. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Upon arrival officers observed a large black duffle bag in the rear of a small 4 door white sedan. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Further investigation conducted by Sgt Hulse, Ptl Volek, Ptl Ammaturo, Ptl Liptak and Ptl Medina revealed the package was originally located in the roadway at the intersection of Brighton and Norwood.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A Good Samaritan observed the package and placed it in the rear of his vehicle and proceeded to drive away. The Good Samaritan then stated he thought he smelled an odor and pulled over to call the police. &nbsp;</p>

<p>*** Deal Police reminds members of the public to never approach or touch a suspicious package and to call the police immediately***</p>

<p>NJ State Police Bomb Squad and multiple Monmouth County Sheriff Bomb detection dogs Deal Fire and Deal First Aid responded to the scene to assist. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Investigation revealed the package to not be a threat and contain audio equipment. &nbsp;</p>

<p>All religious and educational buildings were checked and cleared as a precaution. &nbsp;Nothing suspicious was located and the scene was cleared at approximately 4:20pm. &nbsp;</p>
