Reminder from the ECPD Traffic Division regarding inoperative traffic signals at intersections

As the rainstorm approaches, forecasters are predicting high winds for the bay area. These winds tend to lead to power outages due to downed power lines. The El Cerrito Police Department Traffic Division would like to remind motorists that when approaching an intersection which has official traffic control signals that are inoperative the driver shall stop at the intersection, and may proceed with caution when it is
safe to do so. This is per California Vehicle Code section 21800(d)(1). Please drive safely.
