SPORT CLUB AV MEMBERS POSSIBLE THEFT CASE
Lancaster Detectives are currently investigating a possible Theft by False Pretenses involving approximately 600 fitness club members. It is alleged that members were electronically over charged for their September dues by owners/operators of Sport Club AV in the city of Lancaster. These dues were not previously disclosed to the members and the business closed soon after the dues were collected. The business was located at 1020 Commerce Center Drive.
Detectives currently have enough information from potential victims to confirm if in fact a crime had been committed. In anticipation of a large number of potential victims, detectives currently need more time to properly gather additional evidence. Lancaster Station will post a request for information to the community to help identify additional potential victims. This request will be sent out at a date and time still yet to be determined via social media, printed press and network television media. We currently ask for the public’s patience and understanding in this matter. Please do not contact detectives at this time if you feel that you were a victim. Instead, we ask that you gather your membership contract, and any bank statements or receipts documenting your membership dues.
We understand that many members are upset with the business and ask that they refrain from any unlawful activities such as vandalism, assaulting or stalking any employees or owners associated with this incident. We have also discovered several social media postings of the owner’s personal information and home address has proven to be inaccurate and ask that persons do not act unlawfully to contact the owners.
