<p>Livonia&nbsp;Police&nbsp;is alerting residents to a dangerous situation. Consumers Energy is currently in the process of fixing a gas leak at the intersection of Joy/Newburgh.&nbsp; **The high level reading is only in the intersection**</p>

<p>Joy is closed between Newburgh and Stonehouse, please avoid this area for the next few hours.&nbsp;</p>

<p>****Update - Attention LPS</p>

<p>Consumers Energy reports that they are currently working on the gas leak, and Joy Rd is not expected to re-open until after 0900 hours today.&nbsp; Per the Consumers supervisor on scene, there is no need to close school.&nbsp; However, students and pedestrians are encouraged to avoid using the east sidewalk&nbsp;on Newburgh Rd north of Joy.&nbsp; Pedestrians are unable to use the sidewalk on the northeast corner of Joy and Newburgh.&nbsp; All driveways to Churchill High School remain open.</p>
