Press Release: Structure fire, 1800 block of Park St, Alameda

This morning, at 7:59 am, Alameda Fire (AFD) responded to a commercial structure fire on the 1800 block of Park Street. Arriving crews found three cars on fire with direct flame impingement onto a single story commercial structure.

Crews pulled hose lines to protect the building and quickly extinguish the cars that were on fire.  The fire was fully extinguished in about 10 minutes. The structure was ventilated and searched for hidden fire and occupants.

Fire damage was contained to the cars, debris on the ground, and exterior of the building. There were no reported injuries. A total of 25 firefighters responded.

An AFD Fire Investigator is working to determine the cause.

Alameda Police and PG&E also responded as assisting agencies.
