It’s that time of year again for the ghosts and goblins to come out in the Town of Merrimack. Chief Mark Doyle has announced the hours for Trick or Treat this year for Monday, October 31st, between 6:00pm & 8:00pm.

The Merrimack Police Department will be participating in the Merrimack Parks and Recreation’s annual Halloween Fun Day on October 28th at Wasserman Park and the fun will continue with more events after the fun day. The festivities will start at 5pm and end at 8pm. Please stop by with your children to show off their costumes.  More info can be found on the Parks and Recreation Facebook page, here:

We would like for everyone to have a fun and safe Halloween.

Here are a few tips to keep everyone safe:

-While driving a vehicle on the night of Halloween, please drive slowly and be aware of children as they might wander into the roadway;

-Always inspect all candy and other treats before allowing your children to eat;  

-Be sure to pack a flashlight or glow sticks;

-Make sure your children are not running into the street. Children should walk along the side of the road.

-Do not Trick or Treat at houses without outside lights turned on;

-Parents should know the route your kids will be taking if you are not going with them. It is always the best choice for you join your children.

The most important safety tip is to use common sense and follow your judgment.
