August 30th

Driving under the influence with priors, Warrant arrest, Hit and run, Violation of probation – 11344 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2306 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after it struck a curb in the parking lot. Several people in the lot informed the officer that the vehicle had collided with a parked vehicle in the lot as well. The driver, a 30-year-old Richmond man was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. The man was is currently on probation for DUI related offenses and driving in violation of that probation. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Injury Collision San Pablo Ave/Moeser Ln:
Major 5 car collision took place at 1628 hours south bound San Pablo Ave at Moeser Ln. It appears that V-1 was south bound SPA in the number one lane travelling in excess of 60 MPH based on several witnesses who observed the vehicle prior to the collision. V-1 crashed into 4 vehicles stopped for the red light causing major damage to 3 of the 4 vehicles. Occupants in 3 of the vehicles were trapped and required heavy rescue equipment and significant effort on the part of the first responders to extricate them from the vehicles. One life flight helicopter responded to Cerrito Vista Park for one of the drivers and 3 others were transported via AMR to John Muir. North and south bound SPA were closed until 1830 hours.

August 31st

Driving under the influence - Carlson Blvd. / Tehama Ave:
At 2313 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 59-year-old Richmond man for driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober relative.

Residential Burglary - 8600 block of Arbor Dr:
Between 0630 and 2340 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim's bedroom window and stole belongings from the residence.

Warrant arrest, Located missing person- San Pablo Ave/ Wenk Ave:
At 0242 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the passenger, a 16-year-old Richmond girl, for an outstanding warrant. The girl had also been reported as a runaway juvenile. The girl was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to Juvenile hall.

Commercial Burglary-10042 San Pablo Ave:
At 0620 hours officers responded to an alarm at this business located the rear door forced open and the alarm sounding. The suspect was able to gain entry and open one cabinet before the alarm sounded causing them to flee the business. No loss was reported.

Stolen Vehicle (Recovered)-6100 block of Jordan Ave:
An Officer reported the recovery of an unreported stolen 99 Honda Civic at 0715 hours. The vehicle was reported as a suspicious vehicle that was left running in the 2200 block of Carquinez Avenue.

September 1st

Warrant Arrest and Possession of Methamphetamine:
An Officer reported the arrest of a 56 year old male from Richmond on several outstanding warrants for possession of dangerous drugs out of Marin County. He was also found in possession of methamphetamine during the booking search. Johnson was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Public Intoxication:
An Officer arrested a 44 year old El Cerrito woman for Public Intoxication after she was reported to be staggering around behind the trash dumpsters. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
