SUMMARY: On September 14, 2016, deputies from the Victorville Police Department received a report of a missing juvenile. The 13 year old female was seen by her family at 6:30am, in their home. At approximately 8:00am, they discovered she was missing. The family reported that the girl had diminished mental capacity and was not familiar with the area, as she had just moved here from the Chino area.
Several units, including the Sheriff’s Aviation Division and a K9 unit, began an extensive search for the girl. Security officers from the shopping center at Highway 395 and Palmdale Road confirmed she had been seen there and was walking westbound on Highway 395. At approximately 11:00am a citizen brought the girl to the Victorville Police Department after finding her at the AM/PM on Palmdale Road. She was in good condition and her family was notified.
We wish to express our gratitude to the citizen that took the time to check on her and bring her to the station.
