As of the 5:00 PM update of the National Hurricane Center, the tropical Storm Warning is still in effect for our area. Over the last several hours the storm has been moving away from our coastline, and as a result, the impact to our area has been reduced.
Rainfall amounts have been lowered to less than 1/2 inch, and maximum wind gusts are expected to be in the 25-30 mph range. There still may be a risk of power outages as a result of the wind gusts. The elevated wind speeds will begin this evening and may remain in the area through Monday evening.
The Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor this storm and will post updates as necessary.
