A Tropical Storm warning has just been issued for our area. Local weather reports are indicating that the storm should arrive in our area late tomorrow afternoon or early evening. Recent forecasts have indicated that the storm speed of travel will slow as it enters our area and will remain in the area longer than previously expected.
This storm is expected to be more of a coastal event and it's effects should diminish as it approaches our area. Strong wind gusts up to 30-45 mph can be expected Sunday night through Labor Day Monday. 0.25 -1.25 inches of rain is expected also. Overall conditions are expected to improve for Wednesday.
As with any storm power outages are possible. Today would be a good time to check you emergency provisions and replenish them as necessary. Remember to have batteries, flashlights and battery powered lanterns on hand. Also charge your cell phones and other electronic devices before the storm enters the area.
