INCIDENT: FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION

On September 2, 2016, at approximately 11:49 p.m., officers of the Pomona Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team responded to a Vehicle vs Vehicle Traffic Collision at the SR71 at Old Pomona Road. A vehicle was traveling northbound on the SR71 at a high rate of speed, lost control and collided with a vehicle traveling southbound on the SR71.
One of the occupants of the vehicle traveling north suffered fatal injuries. The other occupant in that vehicle suffered serious injuries. Two of the occupants in the vehicle traveling south suffered moderate injuries, while a third suffered serious injuries.
The collision is being investigated by the Pomona Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team. Officers are still working to positively identify the persons involved in the collision.
