Ripon Adopt-A-Cop Members Support Their Officers

Yesterday evening, a wagon load of support rolled into the Ripon Police Department lobby. Local resident Mariah Zuniga delivered a number of cards, letters, prayers and support to Ripon officers from grateful community members. Zuniga said a friend of hers told her about the Adopt-A-Cop program. She researched the program and thought it would be a great idea in Ripon.

The goal of the Ripon Adopt-A-Cop program was to assign Ripon officer’s names to a family, group or individual who would send prayers, notes of encouragement and support along to the officers. Zuniga said Chief Ed Ormonde was extremely helpful with this project.

A number of Ripon officers donated their own time to come to the department and personally thank Zuniga and the Ripon families who participated in this program for their prayers, encouragement and support.
