Indianapolis—An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officer nabs a murder suspect wanted out of Louisville, Kentucky. On August 11, 2016, IMPD was notified by Louisville Metro Police Department that Jessica Martinez may reside in Indianapolis. A warrant for Ms. Martinez was recently issued in a 2008 murder case for her alleged involvement in the beating death of her 18-month-old child.
An observant IMPD officer observed a female walking down the middle of the street in the 900 block of North Gladstone Avenue. The officer stopped the female for Obstruction of Traffic and identified her as Jessica Martinez. A warrant check revealed the murder warrant, and Ms. Martinez was taken into custody without incident. Ms. Martinez will be transferred back to Louisville once extradition is determined.
