Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred in the 44000 block of Gingham Avenue, Lancaster, on Monday, August 22, 2016, at approximately 11:00 PM.

Detectives have learned that deputies responded to the area regarding a “shots fired” call. When they arrived on scene, they discovered a trail of blood that led to the backyard of a residence. They followed the trail and located an unconscious man who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Deputies immediately performed CPR on the victim.

The victim, a male Black adult, was then transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There is no suspect information at this time. The investigation is on-going.
