August 19th

Robbery (Strong Arm) – BART Path/Stockton Ave:
At approximately 1820 hours, an unknown suspect rode by the victim on a bicycle and grabbed her cell phone out of her hand. The suspect was described as a black male, 15-16 years old, with curly brown hair wearing a yellow t-shirt and was last seen riding northbound on the BART Path.

Arrest for Drunk in Public – San Pablo Ave/Orchard Ave:
At 1841 hours, El Cerrito police officers responded to a report on a man throwing rocks at cars. A 59 year old male from Oakland was contacted and determined to be inebriated. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Arrest for DUI, Driving on a Suspended Driver License and DUI Probation – 8000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 2253 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 22 year old male from Richmond, for DUI. The male’s Driver License was suspended for DUI and he was on DUI probation. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Arrest for DUI – Moeser Lane/Lexington Ave:
At 2257 hours, an El Cerrito police sergeant conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 28 year old male from Richmond for DUI. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Arrest for Drunk in Public – 1700 block of Liberty St:
At 0020 hours, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 31 year old transient male for public intoxication after he was found sleeping on the back porch of a family member’s apartment. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. This was the second call for service of the night at the apartment complex regarding the same unwanted male.

Warrant Arrest for DUI and a Warrant – Jack in the Box, 5920 Cutting Blvd:
At 0208 hours, El Cerrito police officers responded to a male passed behind the steering wheel of a vehicle in the drive through lane. A 24 year old male from Richmond was found passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle and arrested for DUI. The male was also determined to be a Parole at Large (wanted person). The male was arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. The male was cited on the DUI charges and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility on the warrant.

Arrest for DUI – San Pablo Ave/Bayview Ave:
At 0225 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 26 year old female from El Sobrante, for DUI . The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Arrest for DUI – Jack in the Box, 5920 Cutting Blvd:
At 0235 hours, while investigating the above DUI at Jack in the Box, a 21 year old female from Vallejo decided to drive the wrong way into the drive through lane and almost hit an officer. The female was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrested. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

August 20th

Arrest for Shoplifting - Walgreen’s 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1319 hours, a 20 year old female from Berkeley fled the store with a bag full of unpaid merchandise. An El Cerrito police corporal located the female at the Del Norte BART station with all the stolen merchandise. The female was positively identified during an infield show-up and placed under citizen’s arrest. During a search of the female, officers located a black pellet gun concealed in her waistband. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Auto Burglary – Barnes and Noble 6000 El Cerrito Plaza:
Between 1430-1515 hours an unknown suspect shattered the front passenger window of the victim’s parked vehicle and stole a backpack.
The suspect was described as a black female adult, 20’s, wearing red/black jacket and black pants. The female got into a dark colored Infiniti FX35 with Fremont paper plates that fled towards San Pablo Ave.

Arrest for Shoplifting – Walgreens 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1545 hours El Cerrito police officers responded to the report of a shoplifting in progress. An El Cerrito police officer detained and arrested a 56 year old male from Oakland for stealing $186.00 worth of items. The male was released on a citation at the scene.

Arrest for a Warrant, Obstructing/Delaying a Police Officer, and Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Cutting Blvd/San Pablo Ave:
At 2148 hours, an El Cerrito Police Corporal observed an argument at Jack in the Box between a 48 year old male from San Pablo and his wife. The male entered the restaurant and the police Corporal Wong spoke with the male’s wife. After providing dispatch with the males identifying information, the Corporal learned the male was wanted on a no bail Contra Costa warrant for elder abuse. Upon contacting the male, he immediately ingested an unknown amount of an unknown substance from a prescription pill bottle. The male was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center by ambulance for medical clearance. After being medically cleared at the hospital, the male was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. The El Cerrito Police Corporal spent 5 hours at the hospital waiting for the male suspect to be cleared.

Vehicle Pursuit – Stockton Ave/Galvin Ave:
At 2219 hours, an El Cerrito police officer attempted a traffic stop on a light green or silver Saturn, for a stop sign violation. The vehicle failed to stop, fled southbound and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit travelled southbound through the residential neighborhoods on Seaview, Colusa, and Santa Fe into Albany. The vehicle pursuit was terminated on Marin Ave when the driver started to drive erratically. The driver could only be described as a male.

Arrest for DUI – Carlson Blvd/San Pablo Ave:
At 2335 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 40 year old male from Grenada for DUI. The was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then released on a citation.

August 21st

Warrant Arrest – 6300 block of Conlon Ave:
At 1529 hours, El Cerrito police officers responded to a verbal argument between a male and female. A 30 year old male from Livermore was arrested on a $25,000 warrant out of Alameda County for possession of illegal weapons. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant, False Personation – San Pablo Ave/Knott Ave:
At 2150 hours, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 30 year old female on a San Bernardino County warrant. She initially provided the name of a co-worked in an effort to conceal her identity and the warrant. She was booked at the ECPD, cited on the warrant, and then transported to Martinez Detention Facility on the new charges.

Stolen Vehicle – Parking Lot of Hotel Mira Vista, 6009 Potrero Avenue:
At 0453 hours, an officer was dispatched to the hotel for a report of a stolen U-Haul box truck. The victim left the U-Haul truck parked and secured in the lot. The officer reviewed the video from the hotel and reported that at 0354 hours, two unknown suspects entered the parking lot from the north curb of Potrero Avenue on foot. S2 acted as a lookout as S1 entered the driver side of the U-Haul. S1 started the U-haul and drove onto westbound I-80 from Potrero Avenue. S2 walked eastbound on Potrero Avenue and got into a silver Ford SUV which also entered westbound I-80 from Potrero Avenue.

S1- WMA, 30-40s, skinny build, bald head, wearing a black sweater and a red coat, and blue jeans
S2- BMA, 30-40s, heavy set, wearing a black sweater and black jeans.
