Cedar Fire Near Alta Sierra - New Recommended and Precautionary Evacuations

Gracias. /// If you live, work or are visiting an area affected by the Cedar Fire near Alta Sierra, please pay close attention to this message. This is a followup to earlier ReadyKern messages. /// The Cedar Fire has become a threat to the following parts of Wofford Heights: the Pala Ranches area, Homestead Tract, and all residences north of Anchorage Avenue, including Earl Pascoe Road. The precautionary evacuations for the Pala Ranches area, Homestead Tract, and all residences north of Anchorage Avenue, including Earl Pascoe Road, have been elevated to recommended evacuations. /// A recommended evacuation means that the fire is an imminent threat and all persons in the evacuation area are strongly advised to leave and seek shelter away from the fire area. A recommended evacuation will likely be the last warning given. /// Your Kern County emergency authorities recommend that all persons in the Pala Ranches area, Homestead Tract, and all residences north of Anchorage Avenue, including Earl Pascoe Road evacuate as soon as possible. /// In addition, new precautionary evacuations for areas of Wofford Heights have been added as follows: The area east of Highway 155 and north of Wofford Blvd. are now under a precautionary evacuation. /// A precautionary evacuation means that the Cedar Fire may become a threat to the area east of Highway 155 and north of Wofford Blvd. in the near future, and all residents are advised to be prepared to leave the area at a moment’s notice if it becomes necessary. /// At this time, no other parts of Wofford Heights besides the ones listed are under a recommended or precautionary evacuation. /// An evacuation center has been set up at the First Baptist Church of Lake Isabella at 3701 Suhre Street in Lake Isabella. Animal Services will assist with sheltering companion animals at the center. /// If you have physical limitations and require evacuation assistance, please call the Aging & Adult Services hotline at 1-855-264-6565. /// Please note that the communities of Alta Sierra, Slick Rock, and Shirley Meadows remain under a recommended evacuation. /// If you have an emergency, call 911.
