Male Assaulted with Ice Pick at Mulberry Drive and Calmada Avenue, Unincorporated Whittier #LASD @NorwalkLASD 
On Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at approximately 12:00 a.m. Norwalk Sheriff's Station deputies responded to Mulberry Drive and Calmada Avenue, unincorporated Whittier to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call.
When the deputies arrived they learned the victim, a male adult, was standing on the corner, when a dark colored sedan occupied by three male Hispanics stopped their vehicle, exited the dark colored sedan and, without provocation, attacked the victim. During this attack, the victim was stabbed with an ice pick in the right side of his abdomen. The suspects' vehicle fled eastbound on Mulberry Drive from Calmada Avenue and out of view. The victim indicated the incident could possibly be gang related.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The victim was very uncooperative with deputies during the investigation and refused to provide any details. There were no witnesses identified or evidence recovered from the scene.
The investigation is on-going and there is no additional information available.
