Please, NO in-kind donations of food, clothing, goods, household items, etc.
The County of Lake is not able to accept or manage donations for the Clayton Fire. In the Valley Fire, donations far exceeded the needs of survivors and in many cases, were not suitable for distribution to survivors. The County was forced to spend several hundred thousand dollars, taxpayer funds, to dispose of unneeded, unusable donations. In light of this new disaster, the County must focus depleted resources on Clayton Fire recovery efforts.

Non-profit agencies and shelters may accept in-kind donations – but ONLY on a very limited basis and only when specifically requested to fill a particular need. Please call the agency first before you show up with any donations.
