August 5th
Auto Burglary - 9000 block of San Pablo Ave:
Between 0700-0705 hours, an unidentified suspect broke a window of a parked car and stole an I-Pad, Go-Pro and a wallet.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle - F Street/Cypress Ave:
At approximately 0916 hours, an officer located an unoccupied white Mazda Miata reported as stolen to the CHP.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle - Lassen St/Carlson Blvd:
At approximately 1151 hours, an El Cerrito police officer located an unoccupied 1998 Subaru Impreza reported as stolen to the Oakland PD.
Arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance - Kearney St/Conlon Ave:
While riding bicycle patrol an El Cerrito police officer noticed a 54 year old male from Richmond holding a methamphetamine pipe. The male was also found in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.
Hit and Run - Eastshore Blvd/Potrero Avenue:
At approximately 1352 hours, an El Cerrito police officer responded to the report of a downed traffic signal pole. An unidentified driver hopped the curb and collided with the light pole and then fled westbound Potrero Avenue.
Auto Burglary –7901 Cutting Blvd (Mira Vista County Club):
Between 0900-1230 hours an unidentified suspect used unknown tool to damage the driver side front door lock and entered the vehicle. The suspect stole a wallet and other miscellaneous items. The suspect went to Target Richmond and fraudulently purchased $2500.00 worth of gift cards with the victim’s credit cards
Possess Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave / Wall Ave:
At 1912 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 35 year old man from San Pablo for possession of methamphetamines and a pipe. He was booked at the El Cerrito PD and then released on a citation.
Stolen Vehicle, Evading – State Street/S. 49th Street:
At 2124 hours, an officer conducted a records check on a 1996 Acura Integra and learned the vehicle was reported stolen to Concord PD on 8/5/16. He followed the vehicle onto E/B I-80 where it began to accelerate away from him and he attempted a traffic stop. The driver of the Acura cut across 4 lanes of traffic and the officer immediately ceased his attempt to stop the Acura.
Stolen Vehicle – 6400 block Potrero Dr:
The victim’s gold 2002 Hyundia Elantra was stolen sometime between 2120 and 2150 hours.
False Personation, ID Theft, Possess Controlled Substance, Fraud – I-80/Central Ave:
At 2231 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 34 year old female from Sacramento. The female initially provided the name of another person in an effort to conceal her suspended driver license. She was found to be in possession of several different prescription medications which she did not have a prescription for. She was also in possession of two counterfeit driver licenses bearing other person’s names, driver license numbers, and dates of birth but her photograph. She possessed a credit card with the same name as one of the counterfeit driver licenses. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to MDF.
August 6th
Warrant Arrest – Cutting Blvd at San Pablo Ave:
At approximately 1626 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 34 year old male from Richmond for a traffic warrant out of Solano County. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Auto Burglary – 5000 block of Central Ave:
Between Friday August 5th at 1800 hours to Saturday August 6th at 0900 hours an unknown suspect smashed the driver side rear ¼ panel window to the victims dark blue 2003 Toyota Highlander and stole a subwoofer ($200).
Public Intoxication – 10458 San Pablo Ave (McBear’s Social Club):
At 2226 hours, officers responded to an unwanted subject and located a 24 year old man from Sausalito. The man was heavily intoxicated, uncooperative, and unable to care for himself. He was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then transported to County Jail.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered – San Pablo Ave/Barrett Ave:
At 0100 hours, an officer located an unoccupied 1997 Honda Civic which was reported stolen to Richmond PD on 8/4/16. The vehicle was released to the owner at the scene.
August 7th
Attempted Residential Burglary – 800 block of Seaview Dr:
At approximately 1148 hours a neighbor saw three suspect in the backyard of this residence attempting to open the back window. The neighbor confronted the males who fled on foot westbound on Terrace Dr. The homeowners were not home at the time of the incident. El Cerrito police officers circulated the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
Warrant Arrest – 900 Seaview Dr:
At approximately 1236 hours, an El Cerrito police officer contacted a 70 year old male in front of this residence. The was arrested a traffic warrant out of Santa Cruz. The male was booked at the El Cerrito police department and released on a citation.
Shoplift, Warrant –11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 2013 hours, Officers responded to a theft from the business and located a 27 year old Richmond man. The man was placed under citizen arrest for theft as well as six warrants for his arrest. He was booked at the ECPD and cited on the new theft charges and then transported to MDF on the warrants.
Warrant Arrest - Cutting Boulevard/S. 50th Street:
At 0250 hours, an officer recognized a 43 year old Richmond male who had 2 outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrants. The male was arrested, cited and released from the Police Department.
Parole Violation, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia –5500 Central Avenue (Shell Gas Station):
At 0327 hours, an officer conducted a suspicious vehicle stop on a vehicle with expired tags. The officer contacted the driver, a 33 year old Oakland male, and found he was on parole. The officer searched the person and located a glass methamphetamine pipe and a shaved key. The officer then located approximately 2 grams of methamphetamine during a search of the vehicle. The male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
