Police Blotter July 25th to July 28th

July 25th

Vandalism- 7125 Donal Ave (Korematsu Middle School):
An Officer reported that an unknown suspect spray painted “FLOP TEAM” in gold paint on multiple locations around the campus of Korematsu Middle School at some point over the weekend.

Warrant Arrest- 11565 San Pablo Ave:
An Officer reported the arrest of a 20 year old woman from Corte Madera on two outstanding warrants for theft and drug possession. The subject was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance- Manila Ave and Kearney St:
An Officer reported the arrest of a 42 year old female from Richmond for an outstanding Drug possession warrant and the arrest of a 42 year old male from Richmond for Possession of a Controlled Substance during a traffic stop. Both were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. The Female was transported to the Main Detention Facility in Martinez and the Male subject was released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest - Moeser Lane and Seaview Dr:
At 2043 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested, a 22 year old from Richmond for an outstanding warrant. The female was booked and then cited.

Drunk in Public - Moeser Lane and Ashbury Ave:
At 2200 hours, an officer was flagged down by a 45 year old female from El Cerrito. The female was extremely intoxicated and could not care for herself. The female was booked and transported to county jail.

Under the Influence, Possession of a burglary tool and Drug Paraphernalia: San Pablo Ave and Manila Ave:
At 2216 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 26 year old male from San Pablo after the male was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The male was also in possession of a smoking device and a burglary tool.

July 26th

Residential Burglary 3400 Block of Santa Clara Ave:
An Officer reported that an unknown suspect pried open the victim’s storage closet and stole ski equipment between 7/23@1200 and 7/26@1000.

Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia Van Fleet Ave. at San Pablo Ave:
An Officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 29 year old man from Berkeley for the possession a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The subject was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest:
At 1508 hours, An Officer was dispatched to an unwanted subject at Dollar Tree and arrested a 42 year old Richmond resident on an outstanding warrant. The subject was booked at the El Cerrito Jail then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle 5600 Block of Rosalind Ave:
At 1547 hours, An Officer located a reported stolen vehicle that had just been abandoned by two subjects. A 50 year old Richmond woman was arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of stolen property. After booking she was released pending additional follow-up.

Grand Theft: 670 El Cerrito Plaza (CVS):
At 1903 hours, an officer reports a male and female entered the business and concealed $2000 in cosmetic products and left the store without paying.

Obstruction and Warrant Arrest: Lincoln Ave and BART Path:
At 2236 hours, an officer attempted to conduct a pedestrian stop on a 36 year old male from Richmond. The male attempted to evade the officer on his bike but was stopped. During the contact it was discovered the male was a wanted person. The male was transported to county jail.

Auto Burglary 11851 San Pablo Ave:
An Officer reported unknown suspect smashed the window of the victim’s vehicle and removed property from the vehicle.

July 27th

Auto Burglary:
An Officer reported that an unknown suspect smashed out the left passenger window of a Jeep Cherokee parked at 11861 San Pablo Ave. at approximately 1609 hours and removed property from the vehicle.

Warrant Arrest:
An Officer reported the arrest of a 19 year old Richmond male on an outstanding no bail warrant during a traffic stop on Potrero @ So. 49th. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest:
An Officer reported the arrest of a 20 year old male out of Richmond for 3 outstanding warrants for Assault with a deadly weapon, Assault and Grand Theft. He was contacted during a Pedestrian contact at 11545 SPA. The subject was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest: San Pablo Ave and Eastshore Blvd:
At 1907 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, 25 year old Richmond woman, for a burglary warrant from Marin County, a fraud warrant from San Mateo and a out of state warrant from St. Louis County Missouri for fraud. Aromin was booked and then transported to MDF.

Evasion and Hit and Run: 5300 block Cypress Ave:
At 2344 hours, an officer attempted to conduct a vehicle stop on a vehicle. The vehicle fled from the officer and the officer did not engage in a pursuit. A few minutes later officers responded to a call of a vehicle that collided into a fence. Officers arrived on scene and identified the vehicle that fled from officers. The occupants fled from the vehicle on foot leaving a controlled substance in the vehicle.

Arson 11454 San Pablo Ave (Staples):
At 0440 hours, officers and ECFD responded to a call of the dumpster fire on the south side of the building. ECFD arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. Officers canvassed the area for witnesses and an officer spoke to a witness who stated seeing a male wearing all black clothing walk from the BART station toward Staples. The witness then saw the male throw something into the dumpster. The male then ran from the dumpster and continued north on San Pablo Avenue.

Warrant Arrest: 11511 San Pablo Ave (T-Mobile):
While canvassing the area during the Arson call, officers contacted a 60 year old male. During the contact it was discovered the male had two outstanding warrants out for his arrest. The male was booked and taken to county jail.

July 28th

Shoplifting- 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Lucky’s):
An Officer reported the Citizen’s arrest of a 42 year old transient male for the theft of grocery items. The subject was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance- San Pablo Avenue and Cutting Blvd:
At 1943 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 40 year old female from Richmond, for an outstanding warrant and for being possession of a controlled substance. The female was booked and cited.

Warrant – 8600 Block Terrace Drive:
At 0003 hours, Officers arrested a 28 year old transient male on a no bail Contra Costa Warrant. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to county jail.

DUI – San Pablo Ave / Macdonald Ave:
At 0103 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 29 year old man from San Pablo for DUI. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a signed promise to appear.
