July 15th

Hit and Run Collision (Delayed Report) – Hill St at the BART path
At 0650 hours, an El Cerrito police officer contacted a bicyclist who had been involved in a collision at approximately midnight. The bicyclist admitted running the stop sign and clipping the rear end of a dark color Mazda SUV (No Further Description). According to the bicyclist, the Mazda was driving with no headlights. The bicyclist walked home to Richmond where he realized he was injured. He suffered facial lacerations requiring sutures and road rash. The investigation is ongoing.

Arrest for Drunk in Public – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Avenue
At approximately 1531 hours, an El Cerrito police officer responded to the report of an unwanted subject at Safeway. A 25 year old Richmond male was found to be heavily intoxicated and unable to care for his safety. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplift – CVS, 670 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 2033 hours, an officer responded to CVS regarding a theft which just occurred. A 16 year old female from Oakland was detained near Goodyear Tires in Albany and placed under citizen arrest. She was booked at the ECPD and released to her mother.

Auto Burglary – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
Sometime between 2015 and 2050 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the front passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole an iPhone.

Child Endangerment – 10000 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 2200 hours, Officers responded to the report of a 3 year old running up and down San Pablo Ave. The investigation determined the victim and her siblings (ages 2 and 4) were under the care of 63 year old female from El Cerrito who was intoxicated and had fallen asleep. The children left the apartment and managed to get out of the apartment complex. A neighbor caught two of the three children but the third continued to run away. The female in charge of the children made no attempt to locate the missing child or call police even after two of the three children were returned to her. She was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI, Suspended Driver License – Carlson Blvd / Central Ave:
At 0004 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 22 year old female from Vallejo for DUI and driving while her license was suspended. She was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

DUI – San Pablo Ave / MacDonald Ave:
At 0227 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 25 year old man from San Pablo for DUI. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

July 16th

Arrest for Possession of Burglary Tools – 1900 block of Key Blvd.
At approximately 0746 hours, El Cerrito police officers responded to the area of Tulare Ave at Edwards Ave for a suspicious male looking into vehicles. An El Cerrito police officer located a 24 year old male from Oakland who matched the description of the suspicious person. The male was arrested for possession of burglary tools. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Grand Theft from Vehicle – 5300 block of Rosalind Ave.
Sometime between July 14th at 2300 hours to July 15th 0900 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victims unlocked vehicle and stole a backpack containing a laptop ($1000) and $400 in cash.

Arrest for Possession of Controlled Substances, Drug Paraphernalia, and a Probation Violation – San Pablo Ave at Bayview Ave.
During a pedestrian contact at approximately 1618 hours, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 33 year old male from Richmond for possession of meth, and a meth pipe. The male was on Contra Costa County Probation for possession of controlled substances and possession of stolen property. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation and released.

DUI, Child Endangerment, Warrant, Collision – McDonalds, 11821 San Pablo Ave:
At 2229 hours, Officers responded to a suspected intoxicated driver who managed to become high centered (vehicle stuck on an elevated retaining wall) on the wall separating the drive through lane from the parking lot. The 39 year old female driver from Antioch was determined to be intoxicated and arrested. Her 23 month old son was in the vehicle at the time. An 18 year old male passenger from Antioch was wanted on a no bail Contra Costa County warrant and arrested. Both were booked at the ECPD. The female was released on a citation and the male adult was transported to county jail.

DUI – 9800 Block San Pablo Ave:
At 0218 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 20 year old male driver from Oakland for DUI. He was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

DUI – 6400 Cutting Blvd:
At 0245 Hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 28 year old female from Hercules for DUI. She was booked at the police and cited.

July 17th

Warrant Arrest – Eastshore Blvd at Potrero Ave
During a traffic stop at approximately 0951 hours, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 54 year old female on a Contra Costa County warrant. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Controlled Substances and Drug Paraphernalia - Kearney St at Conlon Ave:
During a suspicious vehicle contact at approximately 1146 hours, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 34 year old female from Clearlake and a 46 year old male from Auburn for possession of meth pipes, syringes, and 12.7grams of methamphetamine. Both subjects were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave at Madison Ave
At approximately 1239 hours, an El Cerrito police officer was flagged down by the registered owner of a parked vehicle that was towed in El Cerrito earlier this morning. The 25 year old male was placed under arrest after officers learned that he had a burglary warrant out of San Jose PD. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave at Cypress Ave
During a pedestrian stop at approximately 1516 hours, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 56 year old female from Richmond on a drunk in public warrant out of Contra Costa County. The male was inebriated, abrasive towards officers and uncooperative. The male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential Burglary – 2600 block Yuba St.
Sometime between July 9th at 1300 to July 17th at 1325 hours, unknown suspect(s) shattered the rear sliding glass door and entered the residence. Nothing was taken appears stolen.

Residential Burglary – Dylans Way:
Sometime between 7/15/16 at 1700 hours and 7/17/16 at 1400 hours, an unknown suspect entered the residence via an unlocked rear bedroom window and stole electronics.

DUI, Child Endangerment, Unlicensed Driver, Collision – Potrero Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 2315 hours, Officers responded to a collision in the 6300 block of Potrero Ave. The unlicensed driver was identified as 51 year old woman from Albany. She displayed objective symptoms of intoxication and was arrested. Her 8 year old granddaughter was in the vehicle at the time of the collision. She was transported to Martinez Detention Facility after being booked at the El Cerrito Police Department.

July 18th

Possess Drug Paraphernalia – 900 block of Seaview Dr.
Officers were dispatched to the area for a male and female arguing. A 52 year old female from Richmond was found to have a meth pipe and arrested. She was booked at the ECPD and then released on a citation.

Auto Burglary – Daiso, 7000 El Cerrito Plaza
Between 1430-1440hrs, an unknown suspect smashed the rear window to the victims 2001 Toyota Highlander and stole $20.00 worth of towels.

Auto Burglary – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave
At 1607 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the rear window of the victims Subaru Forester and stole electronics and a purse.

Warrant – Carlson Blvd / S. 55th Street:
At 0229 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 23 year old female from Richmond on a no cite Humboldt County Warrant. She was booked at the ECPD and then transported to County Jail.
