Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the entire local area from 8 pm this evening through Friday afternoon.

Low pressure is forecast to intensify as it moves northeast across the area Friday afternoon.
There is forecast uncertainty regarding the low’s track and rate of intensification.
Heavy rain is forecast west and north of the low’s track with the potential for flash flooding, mainly of low lying poor drainage areas. Storm total rainfall of 2 to 4 inches is likely with isolated higher amounts. Maximum estimated hourly rainfall rates of at least 2 inches are possible. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the entire local area from 8 pm this evening through Friday afternoon.
Severe thunderstorms are possible along, south and east of the track, with the potential for isolated tornadoes and damaging winds. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our local coastal areas of NJ, NY, and CT under a Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms:
