JULY 5TH

Possession of Stolen Property-11794 San Pablo Avenue

At 1315 hours, officers responded to Marshall’s on a report of two subjects attempting to refund several purses that were stolen from another Marshall’s earlier in the day. Upon arrival employees pointed out a 20 year old female from Richmond and a 16 year old female from Richmond as the suspects. The females were detained by officers and placed under Citizen’s Arrest by the employees. The females were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Residential Burglary-6800 Block of Hagen Boulevard

A Community Service Officer reported an unknown suspect pried the rear sliding door to the victim’s residence and removed property. The burglary occurred in between 7/2@1700-7/5@0800 hours.

Mental health evaluation – 10200 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 1735 hours, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex after a resident threatened several tenants. Officers arrived, contacted the 44-year-old El Cerrito man, and found that he suffered from mental illness but was not taking his medication. The man was committed for a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation.

Warrant arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Cutting Blvd.
At 0352 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 35-year-old Vallejo man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

July 6th

Stolen Vehicle Recovery-5920 Cutting Boulevard

An officer noticed a suspicious vehicle and conducted a license plate check of the vehicle. The officer discovered the vehicle had been reported as stolen to the California Highway Patrol. An 18 year old female from Sacramento and 19 year old male from Richmond were taken into custody without incident. They were booked in the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Moeser Ln.
At 2258 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 30-year-old Oakland man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Vandalism – Cutting Blvd. / Peerless Ave.
At 0116 hours, an officer was flagged down by a victim of vandalism. An unknown suspect was walking in the middle of the street. The victim stopped and waited for him to exit the street. The suspect instead slashed the victim’s tires and fled on foot.

July 7th
Warrant arrest – 10900 San Pablo Ave.
At 1650 hours, an officer contacted a 55-year old Richmond man in the lobby of the police department and found that he had a warrant issued for his arrest. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant arrest, Possession of a controlled substance – San Pablo Ave. / Moeser Ln.
At 2259 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 27-year-old Richmond man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. During booking, the officer located several narcotic pills in the man’s possession. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
