Commercial Burglary-6050 El Cerrito Plaza

An officer reported an unknown suspect threw a rock through the glass of the front door to gain entry. The suspect stole property.

Theft from Vehicle-5300 Block of Rosalind Avenue

An officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed property. The theft occurred in between 6/26@1800-6/27@0900 hours.

Auto Burglary-6060 Central Avenue

At 1049, an officer reported an unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and stole property.

Warrant arrest – 11555 San Pablo Ave.

At 1939 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 63-year-old Oakland man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Public intoxication, Obstructing an investigation – Creekside Park / Santa Clara Ave.

At 2154 hours, officers were dispatched to a loud group of juveniles in the park. Upon making contact, at least six fled the area. A 19-year-old Richmond man was arrested after he was found to be intoxicated, was verbally assaultive to officers, and failed to comply with officers’ orders. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

June 28th

Shoplifter-11565 San Pablo Avenue

At 1108 hours, officers responded to a report of a theft at Walgreens. Employees called and reported a male left the store with unpaid merchandise. The 51-year-old male from Oakland was located on the platform of the Del Norte BART station with the merchandise. The male was identified as the responsible person during an infield show-up and placed under Citizen’s Arrest. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and was released on a citation.

Shoplifter/Warrant Arrest-11450 San Pablo Avenue

At 1125 hours, an officer responded to Safeway and accepted the Citizen’s Arrest of a 24-year-old male from Hayward. The male was detained by loss prevention agents after leaving the store with unpaid merchandise. The officer conducted a records check and discovered the male had an outstanding non-citable warrant from San Mateo County. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Stolen Property-1200 Block of Liberty Street

At 1230 hours, officers were dispatched to the area for a report of a male stealing mail. Officers located the responsible, a 25 year old male from Sacramento on Manila Avenue. He was found to be possession of mail in other people’s names and items that appeared to have been taken from recently delivered packages. Officers conducted an infield show-up and the male was positively identified as the responsible. The arrested male was also found in possession of a recently delivered package from a few houses away. After the male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

At 1345 hours, an officer responded to Safeway and accepted the Citizen’s Arrest of 42-year-old male from San Pablo. The male was detained by loss prevention agents after leaving the store with unpaid merchandise. The male was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking and released on a citation after booking.

Shoplifter- 11450 San Pablo Avenue

At 1529 hours, an officer responded to Safeway and accepted the Citizen’s Arrest of a 56-year-old male from San Francisco. The male was detained by loss prevention agents after leaving the store with unpaid merchandise. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Domestic battery, Warrant arrest – Potrero Ave. / Eastshore Blvd.

At 1846 hours, an officer was dispatched to the area for a woman screaming. Officers located a 29-year-old El Sobrante woman and her boyfriend, a 36-year-old Sacramento man. The investigation revealed that the woman scratched the man during an argument. A records check revealed both the man and woman had outstanding warrants for their arrest. They were both booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Domestic Battery – 400 block of Everett St.

At 2046 hours, an officer arrested a 20-year-old El Cerrito man after he struck and bit his girlfriend during a verbal argument. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

June 29th
Warrant Arrest-11450 San Pablo Avenue

At 0755 hours, officers responded to Safeway for an unwanted subject. Officers arrested 37-year-old female from Oakland for three active warrants. After booking, she was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – 670 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1653 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 43-year-old Oakley man for stealing beer. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

At 1818 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 43-year-old transient woman for stealing food. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Shoplifting – 670 El Cerrito Plaza
At 2116 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 53-year-old San Francisco man after he consumed food and did not pay. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Warrant arrest – 10560 San Pablo Ave.
At 2137 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 50-year-old El Cerrito man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Under the influence of a controlled substance – San Pablo Ave. / Blake St.
At 2353 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the passenger, a 22-year-old El Cerrito woman for being under the influence of methamphetamine. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober friend.

Warrant arrest – 11344 San Pablo Ave.
At 0525 hours, officers were dispatched for an unwanted subject at the business. Officers contacted and arrested a 37-year-old Sun City man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

June 30th
Mental health evaluation – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 2113 hours, an officer committed a 32-year-old San Francisco woman for a psychiatric evaluation after she suffered a psychotic break.

Driving under the influence, Warrant arrest – Barrett Ave. / 42nd St.
At 0156 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 25-year-old Hayward woman for driving under the influence of alcohol. The woman’s passenger, a 33-year-old Richmond man was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Both were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to sober relatives.
