June 21st
Arson – 2000 Block of Tapscott Ave.
At 6:00pm, a school employee stated an unknown suspect lit a charcoal lighter bottle and other unknown object on fire at the basketball courts. School staff took photographs and discarded the debris.
Domestic battery – Manor Circle / Elm St.
At 7:08pm, officers were dispatched to the area for a male on top of a female on the sidewalk. Officers located the couple and arrested a 23-year-old Oakland man for domestic battery. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Recovered stolen vehicle – San Pablo Ave. / Moeser Ln.
At 10:00pm, an officer located a stolen 1996 Suzuki DR350 motorcycle. Within minutes, a 27-year-old Richmond man exited a nearby business and started the motorcycle. Officers quickly apprehended the man. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 00:25am, officers were dispatched for a subject who committed a previous theft, having returned to the store. An officer located the 27-year-old Oakland man and found that he had an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.
Battery – 900 block of Seaview Dr.
At 3:49am, officers were dispatched to a residence for a physical fight and mention of a roommate armed with a shotgun. Officers encountered 12 people at the residence and arrested a 51-year-old El Cerrito man for battery. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released. No gun was located.
Possession of a controlled substance – 900 block of Seaview Dr.
While dealing with the above call for service, officers learned one of the residents, a 35-year old man was on probation for drug related offenses. Officers conducted a search of the man’s room and located methamphetamine. The man was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released.
Warrant arrest – 900 block of Seaview Dr.
Also part of the same call in the 900 block of Seaview, officers determined one of the residents, a 50-year-old woman had an outstanding warrant. The woman was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
June 22nd
Petty Theft - Safeway 11450 San Pablo Ave.:
At 6:12pm, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 46-year-old Richmond man for stealing $300.00 worth of merchandise. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.
June 23rd
Shoplift – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1423 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 46-year-old San Francisco man for stealing $241.00 worth of merchandise from the store. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.
Shoplift – 11565 San Pablo Ave.
AT 1430 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 38-year-old Richmond woman for stealing $100.00 worth of merchandise. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.
Warrant arrest – 11555 San Pablo Ave.
At 7:45pm, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 53-year-old Hayward man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Wall Ave.
At 1:35am, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 22-year-old Dinuba man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.
Warrant arrest – San Pablo Ave. / Carlson Blvd.
At 3:09am, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 37-year-old San Francisco man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
