Three NCSO Employees Slated for Promotion

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office will promote three tenured employees on August 1st to represent a more diverse agency, especially in the supervisory ranks. The positions being filled will encompass a Jail Administrator, a Patrol Lieutenant, and a Patrol Sergeant. Sheriff Stone stated, “These new supervisors are going to be faced with challenges that Law Enforcement Officers have never faced before in America. They will utilize all the Education, Training, and Wisdom their tenure brings. The citizens of Nash County should be honored at the credentials each of these new supervisors will bring to enhancing the safety of our communities.” A brief bio of the three Nash County Sheriff’s Office employees slated for promotion are shared below.

Curtis Moore

Curtis Moore has been a sworn law enforcement officer with the Nash County Sheriff’s Office for 10 years. Curtis Moore started working in the Detention Center and transferred over to the Patrol Division. In 2010, Curtis Moore was promoted to an Investigator in the Criminal Investigations Division. In 2014, he was promoted to Sergeant and had several job responsibilities to include Internal Affairs, Training & Standards, Training Coordination, Public
In 2016, he was assigned to Patrol as a Platoon Lieutenant. Curtis Moore holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Herbert H. Lehman College in Bronx, NY. Curtis Moore has achieved his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate. Curtis Moore has also achieved Criminal Justice Certification as a Certified General Instructor, Physical Fitness Instructor and a Subject Control and Arrest Technique (S.C.A.T.) Instructor with the North Carolina Department of Justice. Curtis Moore currently teaches criminal justice courses at Nash, Wilson, and Edgecombe Community Colleges.
Curtis Moore was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Prior to moving to North Carolina, he was employed as the Policy Analyst with the New York City Council for New York City Transportation and the CFO/Program Director for a Private Home Care Agency.
On August 1, 2016, Curtis Moore will be promoted to Captain and will be the Jail Administrator for the Nash County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

Miste Strickland

Miste Strickland has been a sworn law enforcement officer with the Nash County Sheriff’s Office for 19 years. Miste Strickland has served in various capacities to include an undercover narcotics officer, patrol deputy, SRO at both Southern Nash Middle and High School, and Juvenile investigator with specialized training in sexual assault, child abuse and domestic violence cases. Miste Strickland has been assigned to both the Criminal Investigation Division and Narcotic division and recently served as a Sergeant in the Patrol Division. Miste Strickland holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology. Miste Strickland has achieved her Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate as well as her instructor certification. Miste Strickland currently teaches criminal justice courses at Nash Community College and Edgecombe Community college. Miste Strickland is a member of the American Legion POST 110 in Nashville where she was awarded the State, District, and National Law Enforcement Officer of the year award in 2013.
Prior to her law enforcement career, Miste Strickland served as a U.S. Paratrooper in the United States Army and Army Reserves for 10 years.
On August 1, 2016, Miste Strickland will be promoted to Lieutenant and will be one of the four Patrol Lieutenants for Nash County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandon Baugham

Brandon Baugham has been sworn law enforcement officer with the Nash County Sheriff’s Office for nearly 6 years. Brandon Baugham started working in the Detention Center and transferred over to the Patrol Division. Brandon Baugham has been able train several new employees during his tenure in Patrol. Brandon Baugham has attended a myriad of training such as Basic Swat, Intermediate Tactical Operator, Advanced Swat, Tactical ballistic shield, Swat patrol self-aid/ buddy aid, Active shooter and also completed a two-week school hosted by the Drug Enforcement Agency. Brandon Baugham has inspirations to continue his law enforcement and college education to better himself and provide valuable input to the Nash County Sheriff’s Office.
On August 1, 2016, Brandon Baugham will be promoted to Sergeant and will be one of the four Patrol Sergeants for Nash County Sheriff’s Office.
