Please be aware that a previously reported scam has been reported by numerous local businesses. It is the call from the Peabody Municipal Light Plant (PMLP) stating that the business is in arrears with their electrical payments and scheduled for shut off. To avoid, immediate payment is requested via credit card. This is a scam and not affiliated with the PMLP. It is an attempt to secure your credit card information to use it fraudulently. Do not give out any credit card information to anyone soliciting over the phone. If possible obtain caller ID information and report to the police department.
