The Peabody Police Department would like to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July. We would also like to remind you that both alcohol and fireworks need to be used with caution. In the case of alcohol a designated driver is the best prevention. Find one and use one. In the case of fireworks they are illegal. Take advantage of the numerous local displays available for viewing. We know that we cannot prevent every incident of illegal fireworks but please be careful and also be considerate of the elderly and young children who are most times frightened by the sounds and the possibility of fire. The fire hazard rating is HIGH, and fireworks can and do start fires. Please act responsibly.
