The North Brunswick Office of Emergency Management advises residents to be on the alert this afternoon and evening for possible severe thunderstorms. These could have damaging winds, with gusts at 55 miles per hour or higher, hail possibly up to 1.5 inches in size and heavy downpours resulting in poor drainage and roadway flooding. An isolated/brief tornado cannot be ruled out.
The main threat window for the storms will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the most numerous activity between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. The storms should be fairly quick moving affecting any given area less than 1 hour at a time.
