The El Cerrito Police Department is proud to announce it is now providing a new online police reporting option for the public. This web based reporting system will allow the public to file certain incident types (harassing phone calls, theft, loss property, and vandalism) over the internet at their convenience.

The El Cerrito Police Department expects this internet based reporting service to be very popular among citizens who have come to expect police services to be provided immediately and conveniently online. This option will also allow officers more time to address community needs while keeping pace with the public expectancy to complete services via the internet.

The service will allow the public to file a report at a time that is best for them without having to wait for an officer to respond or call them back. The public will be able to print a temporary copy of the report upon submitting the report. The report will be reviewed by police personnel and once approved the filing person will receive an email with a copy of the report attached without cost.

If you can answer yes to all of the below questions, you are able to file your report online:
• This is not an Emergency?
• This incident occurred within the El Cerrito Police Department City limits?
• There are No Known suspects?
• This did not occur on a State Freeway?
• This did not occur at a BART Station?

If your incident is not listed in the category selection list or you answered no to any of the questions above, please call the El Cerrito Police Department (emergency 9-1-1; non-emergency 510-237-3233) to file your report.
