Residents and visitors on or near the Chain of Lakes this weekend should be aware that this Saturday (June 25th) there will be a sea plane event held on Portage Lake, Baseline Lake, Strawberry Lake, Ore Lake and Whitmore Lake. Officers from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, Michigan Department of Natural resources, Hamburg Township Police Department and the Northfield Township Police Department will be on the lakes during the event to help ensure the safety of the boating community. The event will run from 8:00am to 7:00pm on Saturday. Early sea plane arrivals are expected on Friday (June 24th) and some sea plane departures are expected on Sunday (June 26th).
