Border Fire - New Evacuations Tuesday

This is the San Diego County Sheriff's Department with an emergency message and evacuation information on Tuesday, June 21st.

There is a brush fire burning near the border in the area of Campo, Potrero and Tecate. There is concern this fire may spread to your home, so you are being advised to evacuate.

New evacuation notifications went out to people who live in the community of Lake Morena Village northwest of Campo. Specifically a two-mile radius around Lake Morena Drive and Oak Drive west of Buckman Springs Road.

The Red Cross has set up a shelter at Los Coches Creek Middle School located at 9669 Dunbar Lane in unincorporated El Cajon (Blossom Valley) near Alpine.

At last check, CAL FIRE says the fire has grown to 7,500 acres since it started at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 19th on State Route 94 and Highway 188 on steep terrain.

Road Closures:
State Route 94 is closed from Highway 188/Tecate Road all the way to Forrest Gate Road.
Buckman Springs Road and Cameron Extension.
Buckman Springs Road and Oak Drive
Buckman Springs Road is closed from Old Buckman Springs to SR-94.
