Border Fire - New Evacuation Advisory and Shelter
This is the San Diego County Sheriff's Department with an emergency message and evacuation information on Monday, June 20th.
There is a brush fire burning near the border in the area of Campo, Potrero and Tecate. Evacuation warning messages went out to people who live in these areas:
From the north, Old Highway 80
From the east, La Posta Road to the 94
Shockey Truck Trail from 94 to the border
From the west, Buckman Springs Road
An evacuation warning means that evacuations are currently voluntary, however everyone should be prepared to evacuate if an evacuation order is issued.
Temporary Evacuation Site: Golden Acorn Casino, 1800 Golden Acorn Way, Campo.
New Shelter: Los Coches Middle School, 9669 Dunbar Lane, El Cajon.
State Route 94 is closed from Highway 188/Tecate Road all the way to Forrest Gate Road.
