Border Fire - New Evacuations

This is the San Diego County Sheriff's Department with an emergency message and evacuation information on Monday, June 20th.

There is a brush fire burning near the border in the area of Campo, Potrero and Tecate. New evacuation notifications went out to people who live along Highway 94, four miles north between Harris Road and Buckman Springs Road. A temporary evacuation point has been set up at the Buckman Springs Rest Stop at Buckman Springs Road and I-8 east of Pine Valley.

At last check, CAL FIRE says the fire has grown to 1,900 acres since it started at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 19th on State Route 94 and Highway 188 on steep terrain. There is concern this fire may spread to your home, so you are being advised to evacuate.

State Route 94 is closed from Highway 188/Tecate Road all the way to Forrest Gate Road.
