#LASD Homicide – Shooting Death Investigation, 1600 Blk Cactus Drive, Lancaster

DATE:  Saturday, June 18, 2016

TIME:  4:00 p.m.

LOCATION:  1600 block of Cactus Drive, Lancaster

VICTIM:  Male Adult (deceased)

                Male Adult (wounded)

SUSPECTS:  Two Male Black Adults

UNIT:  LASD Homicide, Lieutenant Rosson

 

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at approximately 10:00 p.m. that left one man wounded and another who succumbed to his injuries today, Saturday, June 18, 2016 and was pronounced dead at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Lancaster Sheriff’s deputies responded to a “shots fired” call in the 1600 block of Cactus Drive, Lancaster.  When they arrived, they located one male adult suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper torso and a second male adult with lacerations sustained from blunt force trauma to his head.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.  The male adult that suffered lacerations was treated for his injuries and released the following day.  The second victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on Saturday, June 18, 2016.

Two male Black adult suspects appear to have targeted the location, an apartment complex, where an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was taken at the time of the shooting.  They subsequently fled the apartment complex in an unknown direction.

Homicide detectives are actively attempting to determine if this incident is gang related.

The weapon has not been recovered.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available at this time.
