Interstate 70 construction update for Wayne County

Milestone Contractors currently has two active Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) construction projects on I-70 in Wayne County. Drivers will see recurring weeknight and weekend lane closures and should consider alternate routes, such as U.S. 40, during working hours to avoid construction, backups and delays.
During weekends, some interstate construction zones may appear as if no work is taking place, but lanes must remain closed long enough to allow fresh concrete time to cure before opening new pavement to traffic.

Western Wayne County
Weather permitting, Milestone plans to close the right lane of westbound I-70 between Centerville Road (Exit 145) and State Road 1 (Exit 137) on Thursday, June 16 at 9 p.m. until Friday, June 17 at 6 a.m. This lane will close again on Friday at 9 p.m. for concrete patching and remain closed through the weekend until Monday, June 20 at 6 a.m.

Recurring lane closures should be expected on eastbound I-70 for paving between State Road 1 (Exit 137) and Centerville Road (Exit 145) each weeknight between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. and on Saturday, June 18 during daylight hours.

Eastern Wayne County
Weather permitting, recurring right-lane closures should be expected on eastbound I-70 between U.S. 27 (Exit 151) and the Ohio state line each weeknight between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. This right lane may also be closed on Saturday during daylight hours as crews install subgrade drainage. Temporary ramp closures may be required when the moving operation passes interchange ramps at State Road 227 (Exit 153) and U.S. 27 (Exit 156).
