UPDATE:

As of 4:30pm, the ruptured gas line on El Capitan was contained. PG&E crews cut off the flow to the pipe and now they are working to repair or replace the ruptured pipe. El Capitan remains closed between Crow Canyon Road and Oneida Circle. The closure will stay in effect until 8pm or later. Once the road is completely reopened, we will update this advisory.

A construction crew on El Capitan has ruptured a gas main. Police and fire are on the scene and PG&E is enroute. El Capitan is closed between Crow Canyon Road and Shoshone Circle. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
