Yesterday at approximately 2:45 p.m. City staff successfully transitioned to the alternative raw water delivery pump site and began pumping to the City’s water plant. This transition allowed staff to begin immediately fixing pumps at the City’s raw water pump station and start assessing the level of damage caused by last Wednesday’s raw water transmission line break.
The City feels comfortable, at this time, with the performance of the portable pump being used, and is lifting the full prohibition of outdoor water use. Beginning immediately, commercial car washes can reopen and odd-even outdoor water use will be permitted. This means that if the last number of your address ends in 0,2,4,6,8 you can water on days that end in 0,2,4,6,8, and if your address ends in 1,3,5,7,9, you can water on days that end in 1,3,5,7,9.
The city will monitor water flow, and if demand exceeds the ability to deliver water, full outdoor restrictions will be reinstated.
