UPDATE: Brush Fire - Pala

Residents who evacuated their homes due to a brush fire burning in the Pala area are now being allowed to return to their neighborhoods. RESIDENTS ONLY!

Firefighters will be working through the night to put out the brush fire. We thank the public for their patience and cooperation.

This is a public safety message from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. A brush fire is burning in the Pala area near Pala Temecula Road and Temepa Road.

An evacuation warning has been issued for this area. Residents are being asked to go to one of two evacuation centers:

Vallecitos Elementary School
5211 Fifth Street
Rainbow

Great Oak High School
32555 Deer Hollow Way
Temecula

Animals evacuated due to the fire can be taken to the San Diego Humane Society located at 3450 E. Valley Parkway in Escondido.

The public is being asked to avoid the fire area as firefighters work to put out the flames.
