*Update* #LASD Homicide – Shooting Death Investigation, 3500 blk East Avenue R, Palmdale
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred in the 3500 block of East Avenue R, Palmdale, on Monday, May 30, 2016, at approximately 3:44 p.m.
Deputies responded to the 3500 block of East Avenue R, Palmdale, regarding an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon, gunshot victim” call. Upon arrival, deputies found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation, detectives learned that the suspect visited his ex-girlfriend at her residence. The suspect became upset that a male visitor was at the residence. The suspect brandished a handgun and shot the victim multiple times in the upper torso.
The suspect is described as Gonzalo Apatiga Lopez, male Hispanic, 52 years-old, who was last seen driving a black 2002 Lincoln Blackwood, license plate 7B89645. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
