**Original text** The Simi Valley Police Department is asking motorists to avoid Royal Ave. between Sinaloa and Madera. The eastbound lanes of Royal are closed to through traffic due to a serious traffic accident at Royal/Venice. Westbound traffic will be affected as well so motorists should avoid the area altogether.
More details regarding the collision will be released as permitted by the investigation.
