Temple Sheriff’s Station is currently accepting applications for our “Volunteer on Patrol (VOP) program. VOP’s are residents of the communities they patrol and provide an invaluable resource for the Temple Sheriff’s Station. VOP’s are an extra set of eyes and ears for the Station, much like a mobile Neighborhood Watch Program. In addition, VOP’s preform other non-hazardous duties including:
• Traffic Control
• Assisting in searches of missing children
• Conducting residential vacation checks
• Acting as a Department and Station representative at local community events
• And much more
To become a Volunteer on Patrol, you must meet the following requirements:
• You must be at least 18 years of age
• You must possess a valid California Driver’s License
• Pass a background check
• Complete a non-physical Civilian Academy
