Don’t miss your last opportunity to see the fantastic Popol Vuh: Watercolors of Diego Rivera exhibit at the Bowers Museum before this unique collection of original artworks by the Mexican master concludes its only U.S. presentation this Sunday, May 29. General admission to the Bowers Museum is free every Sunday for Santa Ana residents and teachers in Santa Ana schools.
Popol Vuh: Watercolors of Diego Rivera is the first United States presentation of 17 compelling watercolors which were commissioned in 1931 to illustrate a new English translation of the sacred Maya creation text. These watercolors from the collection of the Museo Casa Diego Rivera in Guanajuato, Mexico not only breathe life into the powerful creation story of an ancient civilization, but also provide insight into Rivera's passionate and creative vision of the pre-Hispanic world.
This exhibit also includes original Maya ceramic sculptures dating back to 250 AD and other pieces from the Bowers permanent collection, a wonderful animated video of the Popol Vuh and excerpts of the text.

Popol Vuh: acuarelas de Diego Rivera es la primera presentación en los Estados Unidos de 17 acuarelas que fueron encargados en 1931 para ilustrar una nueva traducción Inglés del texto sagrado de la creación maya.
