**** UPDATE – May 25, 2016 **** Investigators arrest Gabriel Alfred Lizarraga for the murder of Juan Anthony Carreno
INCIDENT: Murder
LOCATION: 25900 block of Baseline St., Highland
VICTIM: Juan Anthony Carreno, age 58 of Highland
SUSPECT: Gabriel Alfred Lizarraga, age 27 of Highland


Through investigation, investigators identified Gabriel Alfred Lizarraga as the suspect responsible for the death of the victim, Juan Anthony Carreno. Lizarraga was arrested on Tuesday, May 24th without incident and booked into the Central Detention Center for PC 187 Murder where he is being held without bail. Lizarraga is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, May 26th.

Juan Anthony Carreno is the step-father to the suspect, Gabriel Alfred Lizarraga.

The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available for release.

Sheriff's Homicide Detail is conducting a murder investigation into a stabbing that occurred in Highland last night —

DATE/TIME: Monday, May 23, 2016
INCIDENT: Murder
LOCATION: 25900 block of Baseline St., Highland
VICTIM: Adult male – family notification pending
SUSPECT: Unknown

SUMMARY:
On Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11:53 p.m. Highland deputies responded to a report of a stabbing in the 25900 block of Baseline St. Deputies arrived on scene and found the victim in his vehicle suffering from possible stab wounds. The victim was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:43 a.m.

Sheriff’s Specialized Investigators from the Homicide Detail responded to the scene and are conducting the investigation.
