Starting on Wednesday, May 25, there will be a permanent roadway re-configuration as the median gap along East Palomar Street between Vista Sonrisa and Santa Cora Avenues closes to make way for the Lomas Verdes Station.

Additionally, crews will continue work on the dedicated transit guideway this week, as well as utility and structural improvements along the southern edge of eastbound East Palomar Street near the Olympic Parkway intersection.

To accommodate construction activities, lane closures will be in place in both directions along East Palomar Street between Olympic Parkway and Santa Cora Avenue.

What to expect during construction:
• Motorists can expect temporary lane closures, detours, reduced lane widths, and construction vehicles traveling in and out of the median along the construction area.
• At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
• Nearby residents can expect intermittent construction noise.
• Walking and biking paths adjacent to the work area may be closed periodically.
• On-street parking along East Palomar Street may be restricted temporarily between Olympic Parkway and Santa Cora Avenue.
• The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus stop located on eastbound East Palomar Street near Santa Rosa Drive, which serves MTS routes 703 and 709, will experience temporary service interruptions.
• The majority of construction activities will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Please note, construction schedules are subject to change.
• Slow for the cone zone! Speed limit reduced from 35 miles per hour (mph) to 25 mph in construction areas. Violators are subject to citation.
